RANCH MANAGER

Full-time, Permanent
​Hanna, AB 
Responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation of Whiskey Creek Ranch, the Ranch Manager will: 
  • Manage livestock utilizing low-stress handling techniques, including;
    • calving season (March-April) 
    • year-round grazing management 
    • breeding program 
    • delivery of nutritional program (winter feeding)
    • light veterinary care, as per protocols
    • record keeping (digitally)
  • Maintain facilities, yards, equipment, fences, water infrastructure, etc.
  • Operate & maintain heavy equipment (Class 1 license is an asset, although not required)
  • Assist in hay & row-crop establishment, maintenance & harvest when necessary
  • Work with a team of experts (veterinarians, nutritionists, agronomists, etc.) to reach high performing business goals 
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Class 5 drivers license (Class 1 preferred but not necessary) 
  • Experience in cattle handling, animal welfare, transportation
  • Mechanical skills
We are looking for a motivated, independent individual that enjoys working outdoors and has a passion for agriculture and livestock husbandry. The ideal candidate has experience in the agriculture industry, but is open to adding to their skillset, expanding their points of view and is forward-thinking. Salary is dependent on experience, competitive and there is room for growth within the position. Willing to invest in the right individual that represents the values of our operation. Housing is not currently provided with this position, but can work with candidates to find suitable accommodations nearby.
