Homemade Quilts For Sale

10/10/2014

The quilts below are projects that are currently for sale. Each quilt was designed, sewn and quilted by Jesse. All quilts are pre-washed and have hand sewn bindings. Some of Jesse's quilts have over 10 hours of labour in them, not to mention a whole lot of love.
I do take custom orders for baby rag quilts occasionally. Rag quilts are basically just quilts with seams sewn the opposite way resulting in a fun 'raggy' appearance. These quilts are usually made from flannel to allow the excess materials in the seams to fray more, giving it the desired appearance. I have also incorporated 'minky' material or other soft materials to give the quilts some depth and interest. The quilt backing can be done in rag as well, but is usually done in a solid piece of flannel, cotton or mink.  The quilts can have batting in between the two quilted layers for a heavier winter weight or the batting can be left out for a lighter summer quilt. I usually bind the edges to prevent babies from sucking on the frayed edges. The top can be hand-tied to the back or machine sewn in a criss-cross pattern. The possibilities with these quilts are endless! I like to make each quilt unique and with a whole lot of love, which takes quite a bit of time! Because of this I request that all orders are recieved 3 weeks before they are needed.

Baby Rag Quilts are usually made as 31.5 x 40.5 inches with 1/4" rag seams. Of course the size and seam allowance can be modified depending on your needs. A few examples of Jesse's baby rag quilts are below.

Baby rag quilts start at $80.00. The final price will depend on size, fabric and if batting is required. If you are interested in a custom Whiskey Creek quilt please contact Jesse.
