Where tradition meets technology.
Jesse & Clay at their branding, 2025
Raising the 6th generation of ranchers in their family, Clay and Jesse hold the traditional values of farming & ranching close to their hearts. For over 100 years their ancestors have grown food for themselves- and the world- on arguably some of the most challenging soils on the prairies. When Capt. John Palliser declared the area "uninhabitable" in the 1800's, it was the Williams & Martin families that said "hold my beer".
It is with great respect that they honour their pioneering ancestors, while pushing the envelope of what is possible in a delicate dance of old & new. In fact, I think it is the homesteader spirit that has always made the impossible, possible, and the uninhabitable, fruitful. Clay, an engineer, and Jesse, a botanist, combine their modern data driven science approaches to raising cattle and crops in East Central Alberta where the soil is limiting and the rain even more so.
