2020  second  calvers  for  purchase

--SOLD OUT--

We've been asked again and again, so 2020 will be our first year offering second calvers for purchase. We understand that sometimes you just don't have the time to worry about problem calvers or heifers that don't claim their calves- that's where these ladies come in!

In 2020, Whiskey Creek Ranch is proud to offer our red-white-faced bred second-calvers that would make a smart addition to any herd. These ladies are Simmental/Angus cross cows that calved last year on the ranch and raised their market calves on the hardgrass of Alberta, making them a problem free investment for your ranch.

Diet
Whiskey Creek cattle are developed from calves that are never pushed with grain in order to develop long lasting, high performing cows that will be a staple in your herd for years to come. We formulate rations daily based on feed quality and cattle groupings.

Herd Health
These mamas have been on a full herd health program, have been vaccinated with Scour Bos and their fall dose of BoviShield Gold One FP5 VL5  for IBR, BVD and BRSV protection. In addition, all cattle at Whiskey Creek Ranch are enrolled in the HerdTrax software program which involves extensive record keeping and statistics that are available at purchase. All cows have been pregnancy checked by our veterinarian using ultrasound. At Whiskey Creek we manage our cattle with only low-stress handling techniques and cull our cow herd based on attitude.

Breeding
These second calvers are bred to to begin calving March 18th, 2020 and have a short 63 day period for calving to ensure a short, stress-free calving season for your ranch.
